Windows 11 Available Again for Virtual Machines

Microsoft is releasing a free version of Windows 11 specifically for virtual machines. Since September, it had become a lot more difficult to run the new operating system on virtual machines.

This is an evaluation version of Windows 11 Enterprise that is valid until September 1, 2022. In addition, the package also contains the Windows 10 SDK version 2004 ((10.0.19041.0), Visual Studio 2019, Visual Studio Code, WSL with Ubuntu installed, state developer mode and Windows Terminal is installed.

Microsoft, which incorrectly states in the title on its page that it is a Windows 10 download, says that this version works on the virtual machines of VMWare, Hyper-V, VirtualBox and Parallels.

Windows 11 appeared in October, but getting the new OS up and running on a virtual machine is not always easy. Since September, TPM is also required there, and not all virtual machines support it. The current version is specifically aimed at developers who still want to work virtually with Windows 11 in this way.
