Twitter Also Bans Holocaust Denial
Following Facebook’s lead, Twitter has also banned Holocaust denial.
The American messaging service now finds that denying the mass murder of the Jews by Nazi Germany is against the rules of the game.
Such hate messages will be removed, a Twitter spokeswoman said. The service says it strongly condemns anti-Semitism.
Facebook had recently announced that it would remove messages denying the Holocaust. Spreading doubts about the systematic murder by the Nazis is also not tolerated.
According to Facebook, the lack of knowledge about the Holocaust is becoming “alarming”, especially among young people.
For example, nearly a quarter of Americans between the ages of 18 and 40 said in a recent survey that they believe the Holocaust is a myth or that its scale is being exaggerated.
