Trump: Trade Agreement with China to be Signed on January 15 in the White House
US President Donald Trump has announced via Twitter that the first phase of the trade agreement with China will be signed on January 15 at the White House.
According to Trump, “high representatives” are present on behalf of the Chinese government at the signing. Trump will travel to Beijing later for the negotiations for a phase 2 deal.
The phase 1 deal between the two economic superpowers was closed earlier this month. It was unclear for a long time when the signing would take place.
As a result of the agreement, part of the import levies that the two countries imposed on each other are reduced again.
The particulars of the agreement have not yet been released. This is expected to happen after the signature.
