Toyota and Isuzu Will Jointly Develop New Technology

Car manufacturer Toyota will work with subsidiary Hino and manufacturer Isuzu to develop batteries for electric cars and hydrogen fuel cells for trucks.

The Japanese companies also want to jointly take technological steps in the field of autonomous driving for smaller trucks.

The collaboration comes at a time when the entire automotive industry must move from fossil fuel to renewable and cleaner energy.

Governments worldwide have targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The big older car companies have faced competition from “newcomers” such as car manufacturers Tesla, Rivian and Nikola.

Toyota and Isuzu take an interest in each other’s companies worth nearly $ 400 million.
