Reddit Investor Gives American Airlines Price Jump

Private investors who unite on online platform Reddit to chop speculators on price losses left a clear mark on the price trend on Wall Street on Thursday.

This time, small investors rallied en masse behind the airline American Airlines, which skyrocketed nearly 30 percent in the first trading minutes.

Investors also processed a stream of new quarterly figures, including those of three large tech companies. Apple posted sales of $ 100 billion in a single quarter for the first time in its history, helped by good sales of its new iPhone with 5G features. The stock nevertheless lost 1.8 percent.

Facebook won 4.4 percent. The social media company boosted revenues by 22 percent thanks to increased ad revenue but warned against its app’s stricter privacy rules within Apple’s operating system.

United States economic growth in the fourth quarter was, on an annualized basis, 4 percent. This was more or less in line with expectations, while the weekly requests for support were much lower than expected on average.
