Question Marks at the Brazilian Grand Prix in Formula 1
Formula 1 still has a question mark about the Brazilian Grand Prix. The race is scheduled for November 14 at Interlagos in São Paulo in 2021.
But the top-class management has not yet signed a contract with Autódromo José Carlos Pace, where Max Verstappen triumphed last year.
The contract with Interlagos, where Formula 1 has been racing since 1990, expired this year. Rio de Janeiro presented itself as a replacement.
A completely new circuit would be built there, but construction has been delayed. According to the BBC, there is no permit yet for the clearing of a large piece of forest.
The return to São Paulo is far from being done in jugs, as Formula 1 owner Liberty Media does not want to do business with the old Grand Prix promoter.
He would be too close to Bernie Ecclestone, the previous Formula 1 boss. Liberty wants to do business with a new promoter to get Interlagos permanently on the calendar.
