President Trump Signs for Sanctions Against Certain ICC Employees

President Trump has ordered sanctions against people working for the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague to investigate possible war crimes committed by U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan.

Washington already threatened this in 2018 but is now working on it.

The ICC would be driven by “dubious parties” to do that investigation. This would mean Russia.

It is not clear precisely what sanctions will be imposed. But it’s probably about freezing accounts in the U.S. of those involved and banning those people from visiting the United States.

In 2017, the court decided that it should investigate crimes in Afghanistan.

These are war crimes or crimes against humanity in the years 2003-2014, most committed by opponents of the American troops, the Taliban.
