Greece is relaxing corona measures around Christmas. Churches, libraries and hairdressing salons will reopen on Monday.

The mandatory quarantine for people coming from abroad will also be reduced from ten to three days.

The number of corona infections in Greece is still high, but the measures are nevertheless being relaxed. “Our churches will open again for Christmas,” said a government spokesman. Nine people are allowed in a church and 25 in a cathedral at the same time.

Christmas starts in Greece on December 25 and lasts for fourteen days. It ends on January 6.

More than 120,000 people in Greece have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, and at least 3300 people have died. More than 80 percent of the beds on the IC are currently occupied because of the virus.
