Google to Pay $1 Billion for London Office
The American technology company Google has bought an office building in London for 730 million pounds or about 1 billion dollars.
Some of its British staff were already employed in the building, for which Google rented several floors.
Many staff members are currently working from home due to the corona pandemic. But Google still chooses to invest in an office building, where it also announces major renovation works.
This is remarkable because, at the same time, the group is building a new site of more than 90,000 square meters in the London district of King’s Cross. That project should be completed within two years.
Google says it now employs 6,400 people in the UK but has capacity for 10,000 in the future.
