Fauci Warns About New Corona Wave After Christmas
Leading American immunologist Anthony Fauci warns that the corona pandemic could hit his country even more challenging after the Christmas holidays.
With many Americans travelling around Christmas, he is worried about a new wave of infections.
As a result, the health care system in the United States may reach a “critical point,” the top expert told CNN on Sunday. On average, around 120,000 people with a corona infection are in hospital every day.
Despite the warning to stay at home, many people went out anyway.
On Wednesday, nearly 1.2 million people boarded a plane, the highest number in one day since the start of the pandemic.
After the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States last month, the virus hit the United States harder again in December, with more than 200,000 new cases and sometimes more than 3,000 deaths a day.
