China is Imposing Sanctions on US Senators and Former Presidential Candidates
The Chinese regime is going to impose sanctions on several prominent Republican politicians in the United States.
Beijing is tired of their criticism of human rights abuses in China but also retaliates after the US imposed sanctions on officials in the western region of Xinjiang.
It is not clear exactly what the sanctions involve. Still, they may be similar to earlier US sanctions against Chinese officials involved in the repression of the Uyghur minority in the Central Asian region of Xinjiang, China.
They included a freeze on their US bank balances, and those people will no longer be given visas or access to America.
Now, although those Republican politicians have no bank balances in China, they are no longer welcome for the time being.
Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are two prominent Republican senators who regularly criticize the communist regime in Beijing. Both were candidates for president in 2016 but lost the Republican nomination to Donald Trump.
The other two are Republican Congressman Chris Smith and Sam Brownback, the US religious freedoms envoy.
