Capitol Agents File Charges Against Trump
Seven agents of the US Capitol Building have filed charges against former President Donald Trump. They find that he is guilty of the violent storming of the complex in Washington on January 6. Trump supporters attacked the agents.
The seven members of the Capitol, five of whom are black, also want to prosecute far-right groups such as The Proud Boys. They would have conspired with the president. With the stampede on the Capitol, supporters of Republican Trump tried to prevent Congress from proclaiming Democrat Joe Biden the winner of the presidential election.
The officers complain of violence, intimidation and threats. The indictment said that they were attacked, spat at, sprayed with tear gas, verbally abused, racially treated, and feared for their lives.
Several lawsuits have been filed against Trump. He spoke to a crowd near the Capitol shortly before the storm. One officer was killed in the attack, and more than 100 others were injured. Four officers defending the building later committed suicide.
