Britney Spears Manager Resigns After 25 Years: Heard That She Wants to End Her Career

Larry Rudolph, who was American pop star Britney Spears manager for about a quarter of a century, has resigned. Several American media reported this on Tuesday.

 

“It’s been over 2.5 years since Britney and I last spoke, and she let me know she’s taking an indefinite hiatus from work,” Larry Rudolph wrote to Spears’ guardians, her father. James Spears and Jodi Montgomery. The letter was published by Deadline magazine, and several other US media outlets have confirmed its contents.

Rudolph says he also learned that Spears was planning to end her career permanently. “And as her manager, I think it’s in Britney’s best interest to step down from her team as my professional services are no longer needed,” he wrote.

Rudolph had worked for the pop star since the mid-1990s, scoring worldwide hits with songs such as ‘…Baby One More Time’ (1998), ‘Oops!… I Did It Again’ (2000) and ‘Toxic’. ‘ (2004).

The resignation announcement comes amid a legal battle over custody of the 39-year-old singer’s finances and personal life. Spears was placed under receivership in 2008 due to personal and professional problems, but she has been trying for years to take her life back into her own hands. The pop star says she feels like a “slave” to her father and feels the regime is “violent”.
