American Airlines is Betting On A Strong Recovery in the Summer
The American airline American Airlines is already expecting a solid recovery in demand for air travel this summer.
The company has confidence in, among other things, the roll-out of vaccines against the coronavirus.
The company has unveiled plans to increase its domestic flights’ capacity to 90 percent of pre-crisis levels. Besides, it wants to fly 80 percent of its international flights. Like rivals, society wants to fly more often to beach and mountainous destinations.
In addition, it will operate new routes to Orlando, Florida, from eight other cities in the United States. More flights to the Caribbean are also planned.
By expanding its flight schedule, American Airlines is betting that travel will be as good as usual again this summer. In the current quarter, the airline is already in the process of putting most of its fleet back into service. Previously, it was forced to ground many of its aircraft due to the impact of the crisis.
Society is aware that there is still a lot of uncertainty, primarily due to changing infection rates and applicable travel restrictions. For example, the airline will not fly non-stop this summer from the US to the United Kingdom, Ireland or Hong Kong.
