Air France Says Goodbye to 10 Percent of the Pilots
403 pilots will depart from Air France, the French branch of Air France-KLM, at the end of this year. That amounts to 10 percent of the total number of pilots.
According to the SNPL union, which released the news, a voluntary departure scheme has been agreed with the pilots.
The pilots who leave the company are also the drivers of the A380 super jumbo’s. These aircraft are gradually being phased out by society.
The corona crisis has been severely cut at both Air France and sister company KLM.
Many planes remain grounded, whether or not due to travel restrictions or less demand for tickets. The recovery is also slow.
KLM is also talking about interventions. Of the approximately 30,000 employees, about 6,000 are said to be forced or not.
